On the 2nd, 3rd & 4th of September the Urban-Recovery team will once again be hosting another incredible 3 day ocean wellness retreat in the glorious Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Wales. The trip combines professional paddleboard coaching with stylish accommodation, healthy, nutritional food from our own private chef, daily yoga practise with Emma Epton and a guided coastal foraging. experience from local expert Jade Mellor of Wild Pickings
Newgale is a cute little coastal village located inside the protected Pembrokeshire National Park. The coastline is an unspoilt, outdoor playground with many secluded bays set in deep, cliff-lined coves which come to life with wildlife in the springtime.
Newgale provides the ideal location for paddlesurfing. There is always plenty of space on the long, two mile stretch of flat sand and whilst the Atlantic Ocean rollers ensure some exciting surf, it is a safe beach for those still learning!
Our base during the retreat will be a beautifully renovated cottage in a neighbouring village of Marloes. Limenaraki is a 4 bedroom self catering cottage which sits on a peninsula surrounded on 3 sides by sea and fantastic beaches. The cottage offer's accommodation for up to 10 people sharing. 4 double rooms, plus double sofa bed and two bathrooms. There are external wash up facilities for watersports enthusiasts to wash down equipment. A large garden to relax in and barbecue and fire pit for evening relaxing. The garden also comes equipped with a TIPI which will be used for yoga practise (if it’s wet).
The food we provide on this retreat is all locally sourced from organic farmers. Our private nutritional chef creates 3 delicious meals each day full of energy and flavour! We also provide healthy snacks and, super food juices and plenty of drinking water.
Each morning Emma Epton will deliver a surf specific yoga practice to help wake your bodies up ready for the surf! At the end of each day she'll lead you through a nourishing, gentle practice to soothe aching limbs and aid relaxation!
One of the highlights of this retreat is the guided foraging experience on the final day. We always team up with a local expert who picks out all the plants and seaweeds that can be eaten raw or cooked. It really is incredible just how much you can eat once you know where to look! We always prepare a tasty meal with all the ingredients we find and the teacher provides recipe ideas for future use!
TIME IN NATURE
An important element of Urban-Recovery holidays is immersion in abundant natural environments. We always schedule time to walk, swim or sit in nature so you can breath in all the goodness. We always encourage our guests to leave their phones and other electrical devices at the accommodation so they can be lost in the moment!
FLAT WATER ADVENTURES
If the swell doesn’t arrive and the ocean remains flat then don’t worry there are some incredible tours we can enjoy. The Pembrokeshire coast offers secluded bays, caves, natural harbours and crystal clear water so you can see the marine life below!
Urban-Recovery retreats always attract lovely, likeminded people who enjoy being outdoors and learning new skills.
We always try to minimise our environmental impact during the retreats and often also remove other peoples litter too!
All our clients receive a wellness gift of natural, toxic free skin care which is marine life friendly!
