BRAZIL is a country of epic proportions and kitesurfing holidays have become another great reason to discover the land of magnificent beaches, vast rain forests, music fuelled cities and an astounding variety of natural and cultural wonders. This is the worlds largest country in the tropics, and with its pristine stretches of coastline fronting emerald seas, warm waters, and jewel-box colonial towns is a perfect kitesurfing destination.
Located at 70km from Fortaleza, the village of Taiba is the choice for our Brazilian kite adventures. The village has one of the most beautiful beaches of golden sand, a warm ocean (28°C throughout the year) and is built between sand dunes and coconut trees.
For kitesurfing enthusiasts, Taiba offers an ideal location between the other two spots in the region: Cumbuco and Paracuru. Taiba has it's own lagoon, a seasonal flat water paradise for freestylers. The lagoon size depends on the rainfall each year, but its usually big enough for few kite surfers to enjoy. The wind in Taiba is constant from July to February and blows at a perfect 18-26 knots, side-on from 10-11 till around 15, then usually drops a bit, before sunset.
Surf championships are held regularly during the year and other activities are available like riding excursions, buggy rides, massage or capoeira if you need a break from the wind and waves!
